Mercury 36

Mercury retractable banner stands are of the few models we have that are actually made in the USA. Unlike most stands where the support pole sits in a socket in the base, the Mercury support poles are threaded and screw onto a bolt on the base. This is a little more work, but is also very secure. Similarly, the top rail is an L-shaped extrusion with velcro on the face for attaching to the banner, and with a hole in the top that allows a threaded knob to screw through the top rail into the top of the pole to secure the banner. The greatest difference between the Mercury and other banner stands on the market, is the roller mechanism itself. It works like a window shade that you have to pull and release to get it to wind up. This has the advantage of not requiring a locking pin to keep the roller from unwinding and losing tension when changing banners, but it can be a little awkward having to pull and release the banner to get it to retract, so this can be a positive or a negative, depending on which of those is more important to you.

Also called pull up banner stands or roll up banner stands, this style of banner display has a spring loaded roller that winds the banner into the base for storage between uses. The Mercury has aluminum construction with velcro attachment to the top rail and the leader for quick and easy banner changes. It has a telescopic height pole that can be adjusted to any size from 36" tall to 96" tall with lever locks on the pole to make locking the pole at any height simple and secure, and it comes with either a silver or black satin finish.

While the manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on this stand that covers any manufacturing defects, like so many warranties these days, it doesn't necessarily mean what it sounds like. We try to help our customers make informed decisions by pointing out what the warranties actually cover, and in this case, the manufacturer feels that anything that breaks after a year isn't a manufacturing defect or it would have broken sooner. That doesn't mean that every failure outside of the first year won't be covered, but it's highly likely and that would mean there would be a charge to repair the stand, although the costs are generally reasonable. Because of this, we list the warranty on this product as 1 year, since it more accurately represents the actual coverage.

Because this model is not stocked in our Utah warehouse, rush options are limited. We normally ship all retractable banner stands with the banner pre-installed, but in a rush situation, you can order the stand without a banner, and order a separate replacement banner to be shipped to you separately in less time. This will require you to install the banner in the stand yourself, but it will save you time and money if you aren't able to wait for normal turnaround and don't want to choose a different model. Banner options shown are at the most popular height of 96", but other heights can be ordered by selecting the stand without a banner, then ordering a banner separately. Contact us if you need assistance with a different banner size.

Looking for a higher-end model?

An upgrade from the Mercury 36 would be the QuickSilver Pro 36 or BannerUp Plus 36. The QuickSilver Pro 36 is actually a less expensive model, but has many upgraded features such as adjustable tension, a snap style top rail and deluxe carry bag. If ordered with the taller support pole, it can display a banner from 38" to 96" tall. The BannerUp Plus 36 is a high end model with a fixed height that can display a banner at 81", 87.5", 96", 107" or 116" tall by adding various length extension poles.

Looking for a less expensive model?

The QuickSilver Pro 36 mentioned above as an upgrade is also a good choice for a less expensive model. It has the additional features mentioned above, plus a lifetime parts and labor warranty.
