Expand FlagStand XL

The Expand FlagStand XL is a premium quality oversized banner and flag display with telescopic height up to an incredible 18' tall. Made from carefully selected components to hold up to long term outdoor use, the Expand FlagStand XL is sure to get attention at any indoor or outdoor venue. With it's multiple configuration options, it can be used on virtually any surface, and it's unique in that it can fold down into a single carry bag, and it can be configured for use in up to 47 mph winds.

The folding lower support assembly locks easily into place when opened, and provides the base for the telescopic center support. Made of anodized aluminum with heavy duty plastic fittings, the legs and support pole are designed to resist corrosion from the elements and be extremely easy to set up and take down for maximum portability.

The Expand FlagStand XL can be ordered with either water bag weights or cast iron weighted feet. The water bags are the most popular option because they allow the stand to pack into a single bag for transport, they are the least expensive weighting method, and they provide greater stability in the wind. With the filled water bags installed, the FlagStand XL can withstand up to an 44 mph gale force wind. While it's easier to install the empty water bags on the base of the stand and then fill them with water, they are equipped with carry handles and screw caps so they can be transported after filling, for situations where a water supply is not nearby. The cast iron weighted feet are zinc coated with carry handles, are good for stability in up to 29 mph winds. These are generally more popular when the FlagStand XL is to be left in one location for a longer period of time, or when water isn't available or practical, such as in freezing weather when the water bags can't be used. A common use for the weighted plates is in front of a business or store front where heavier winds are not expected, and where the stand can easily be monitored and taken down if the weather turns unexpectedly severe.

For the maximum stability in extremely windy conditions, both the water bag and cast iron feet can be used together in up to 47 mph winds. Keep in mind that all of these wind speed ratings are based on the banner being dry. When the banner is wet, it increase the weight and the wind speed ratings drop to 22 mph with the cast iron feet, 31 mph with the water bags, and 36 mph with both water bags and cast iron feet. It's important to consider rain and other stormy conditions when using the FlagStand XL, or any display, for an event. For generally safety purposes, it's recommended that the display be taken down if winds exceed 38 mph, and in most cases, outdoor events will not be taking place in conditions with such high winds.

The Expand FlagStand XL can be ordered with either single or double sided flags at either 126" tall with an overall display height of 161", or the maximum height of 180" tall and an overall display height of 216". Single sided flags show through at 90% intensity to the back side for double sided viewing, although the image on the back side will be reversed. Double sided flags are printed on both sides of an opaque fabric for double sided viewing where both sides read correctly. The fabric flags are printed using a dye sublimation printing process that produces vibrant color that becomes part of the fabric so it can't be scratched or washed off, but the down side is that dye inks do not have good fade resistance and have a prorated 6 month warranty against fading. Since the flags not usually left up permanently, they will typically last quite a bit longer, but in situations where they are left on permanent display, this is something to consider.
